Edward de Bono is regarded by many as the leading authority in the field of creative thinking, innovation and the direct teaching of thinking as a skill. He is equally renowned for his development of the Six Thinking Hats® technique amongst other thinking tools.

Edward de Bono is the originator of the concept - and formal tools - of Lateral Thinking, which is now a part of language enjoying an entry in the Oxford Dictionary.  His techniques and work focus on improving the elements that constitute a perception and the formal design and application of the frameworks required towards innovative and creative action. One may easily say that all the recent (past thirty years) focus on thinking, on creativity, on innovation, on frameworks beyond 'x-storming' etc has taken its lead from Edward de Bono's work.

He has written 76 books with translations into 40 languages and has been invited to lecture in 58 countries.

Edward De Bono's Six Thinking Hats courses have trained over 500,000 people around the world since 1989.The difference between mediocre and highly effective teams lies not so much in their collective mental equipment, but in how well they use their abilities to think and how well they work together.  Six Thinking Hats® helps actualize the full thinking potential of teams. And when used as a meeting management tool, the Six Hats method provides the disciplined process for individuals to be focused and to the point.

But possibly most important, it requires each individual to look at all sides of an issue. Employees like the way the Six Hats method neutralizes employee rank in a meeting where several levels of employees are present. It also puts people who are quiet and reserved on an equal playing field with those who are more talkative and might monopolize a meeting.

Six thinking hats looks at six different ways of thinking - facts, feelings, positive, negative, overview and lateral. Once people have learned how the hats work, they can apply them to all their thinking and start to think in parallel as a team. Six Thinking Hats have been taught to over 500,000 people world wide, from goverments to NGO's to school children.

Lateral Thinking, provides a deliberate, systematic process resulting in innovative thinking. The training will teach you how to think creatively, turn problems into opportunities, find alternative solutions, & dramatically increase your number of new and practical ideas using unconventional thinking techniques normally untapped by our usual ways of thinking.

Who Needs Lateral Thinking?  Not only people who devise strategy or work in R & D, but anyone who wants a disciplined process for innovation, idea generation, concept development, creative problem solving, or a strategy to challenge the status quo can benefit from Lateral Thinking.  If you face fast-changing trends, fierce competition, and the need to work miracles, you need Lateral Thinking.

The Lateral Thinking techniques are useful in a variety of applications.

* Constructively challenge the status quo to enable new ideas to  surface
* Find and build on the concept behind an idea to create more ideas
* Solve problems in ways that don’t initially come to mind
* Turn problems into opportunities and select the best alternate ideas and implement them.
